We have introduced a session key for the Monadring p2p submodule. This session key, integrated with the Keystore, enables us to sign p2p messages and verify them across validator nodes, reinforcing the security of the authority set that the Monadring protocol depends on.

Additionally, we’ve completed an offchain-worker designed to query Operator lists from popular restaking platforms, including Symbiotic and Eigenlayer. Verisense, a DPoS chain powered by Substrate, sources its Operators (block minters) through asset restaking on these platforms. By using this offchain-worker, we can identify Operators that opt into Verisense, leveraging the shared security model offered by platforms like Symbiotic and Eigenlayer.

In parallel, we made significant progress on developing a pallet focused on Verifiable Random Functions (VRF), with a focus on using Boneh-Lynn-Shacham (BLS) as the threshold signature scheme. The primary objective is to ensure secure and reliable VRF functionality, particularly in decentralized setups where participant nodes could pose a risk of collusion.

To address these challenges, we’re planning a transition toward a distributed VRF solution. This approach will incorporate Distributed Key Generation (DKG) techniques, such as Pedersen or GJKR, alongside BLS for managing threshold signatures. In this scheme, the hash of aggregated signatures will serve as a source of randomness, maintaining system integrity and security.

We’re also exploring the use of Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) to enhance security further. This method involves a two-round protocol where each node generates an encrypted random value, followed by a computation of an aggregated encrypted value. The system then uses a threshold decryption process to produce a secure random number, effectively minimizing collusion risks by preventing any single entity from controlling the outcome.

In the coming weeks, we’ll continue to refine and test these solutions to ensure they meet high standards of security and functionality.

By focusing on demand-side innovation and addressing the unique needs of AVS applications, Verisense Network is pioneering a more sustainable and effective restaking ecosystem. This approach not only ensures the long-term viability of restaking but also unlocks the full potential of pooled security, driving the next wave of blockchain innovation.
